In 2020, the Performance Beef platform is expanding to integrate health and individual animal management. Data is abundant in the cattle feeding industry, however converting data to decisions can be overwhelming and time consuming.
The new health platform – introduced at NCBA and expected to be available later this year – allows producers to move from group management to an individual animal level. Producers can expand consultation with trusted advisors beyond nutrition to make data-driven decisions on animal health products, cattle sourcing and management protocols.
User experience testing is particularly important with individual animal management given the value of the data and complexity of the solution. Individual animal management within Performance Beef is an automated, hands-off solution enabled by the use of ultra-high frequency tags and a Bluetooth scale interface.
Additionally, the new health and individual animal management features will help:
- Easily track and implement health and treatment protocols by individual and group
- Evaluate performance across multiple data points – combining health and nutrition – to identify successes and opportunities
- Manage individual animals, optimizing health and marketing decisions
- Save time at the chute with automation and follow-up reminders
By bringing individual animal metrics and health together with feeding and financials, cattle feeders have a more accurate pulse on the entire operation.
