Performance Livestock Analytics has made an update to the Performance Beef program. Previously, the ability to print from the sheets page was available, but with some limitation on transferring into an Excel file. The "print" function has now been replaced with "Export" allowing you to pull these files. Now, you have the ability to export files from the sheets page.
To export these file, simply go to the sheets tab and pull up the information, either per pen or per group.
Remember, information regarding the cattle themselves like; added head, deaths, sold movements and costs will be associated per group. While the feed associated with the cattle is based per pen.
Then select the “Export” function in the upper right-hand corner. This will begin the download to your computer. From here, the file will open with your default application on your computer.
If you have any questions regarding the new export function, please call the Performance Beef support line at (515)-337-2187.
Cattle Krush was developed by Performance Livestock Analytics in 2015. Within the application there are several different tools. First, the “Auction” tool will help to eliminate the bias involved in buying cattle whether you are in the auction house or bidding online. The “Auction” tool allows you to receive real-time profits per head on the cattle that you are bidding on, based on the Chicago Board of Trade.
Cattle Krush allows you to track the profitability on your current lots of cattle. “My Lots” works by projecting when your current cattle on feed will hit their target finish weight and pulls that month’s Live Future Price to calculate your profit per head. Another great feature of “My Lots” is that you can set your profit goal for your current cattle on feed and receive a text or email notification when that goal is reached.
Eliminate the need to have multiple tabs to view the different ag markets, with the “Markets” tab you will be able to view a list of the feed cattle, live cattle, and the corn prices from the Chicago Board of Trade all on one screen.
Eliminate any questions on the profits of your current and future groups of cattle with the “Krush” function. Simply enter the start and finish weight, rate of gain, today’s cost of gain, and the live or feeder basis and it will give you krush calculations for multiple months.
If you like to have historical data to assist in your buying decision, then the “History” tab will help you analyze the high and low profits of any group type over the past 30 years. See when profits historically spiked or fell to maximize confidence when buying cattle in the future.
The goal of Cattle Krush is to make our producers jobs just a little easier by eliminating some of the guessing and stress that comes along with buying cattle. If you have any questions on Cattle Krush, or would like to get started with a free trial visit www.cattlekrush.com or reach out to our support line at (515)-337-2187.

Cattle feeders using Performance Beef are all feeding their cattle using a cellular iPad. With our software, producers have completely automated the data entry and record keeping when it comes to knowing exactly what is being loaded and fed to every single pen, every single time.
Performance Livestock Analytics announced the release of the iPhone Scale App at their conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This iPhone app will allow producers to feed cattle using their iPhone. This app is not meant to replace the iPad, but in case of a lost or broken, or dead iPad. Our hope is that this will make feeding cattle with Performance Beef simple and easy under any circumstances. This is also only available for those who are using Apple iPhones.
As you click into the "Scale App" from the upper left-hand corner of the screen, it will take you to the "Scale App". Here all of your loads are displayed and you will simply slide to the right to view and select each load. Feeding will work in the exact same manner as it would from the iPad, but the layout is now formed for the smaller screen. The main scale you see on your screen will be counting down towards your target amount while your scale head weight will be shown in the smaller white box just beneath the "Zero" and "Distribute" buttons.
As you scroll up, you will see all of your feed ingredients, along with their target and actual load amounts.
To get the new iPhone Scale App, simply go into the App store, on your iPhone and select the updates tab in the lower right-hand corner. The Performance Beef app should be an option to update, once you update the app, you should then have the scale app as part of your app.
Please note that anytime you update your app, you may need to log out and back in to ensure a full account connection. If you have any questions about this new iPhone Scale App release give the Performance Beef team a call at (515)-337-2187.
